Northern Region Mens Squad
The Northern Premier Men’s team for the 2007 NZ Tri Series in Wellington was named at the Northern Club tournament held on Queens Birthday weekend.

Northern would like to welcome Bryce Fellows from Central and Nigel Collin from Southern to the team. Also to Matt Leoffen and Riki Cowely who return to the team after being unavailable last year. I’m sure these players will add new dynamic to the team.

Team trainings are now underway with the team traveling to Hamilton last weekend for the first training.

Northern Premier Men’s Team 2007

Paul Hermon, Guy Coleman, Bryce Fellows, Richard Faust, Matt Leoffen, Darrin Crook, Paul West, Nathan George, Scott Davies, Derek Manns, Riki Cowley, Nigel Collins.

Northern Over 35's in Australia
Northern Region Indoor Sports are delighted to announce they are the attempting to send an Over 35’s team to The Australian Open Championships in Brisbane in early August 2007. The NZ board has formally passed on our request to the Australian national body and we are hopeful of a positive reply. It is a major year for the masters tournament in Australia. The event hosts over 30’s, over 35’s and over 40’s tournaments at the same time. This year Queensland have assembled a super team as they attempt to record a 10th consecutive victory in the over 35 grade.

Northern Chairman David Nagel says with a national Over 35 grade not being offered at home this is an important opportunity for players looking to prepare for the Masters World Cup in Sri Lanka next year. The New Zealand and Australian boards agreed last year to allow team from both countries to attend their events. Northern are hoping to become the first team to take advantage of the opportunity and to give our masters a considerable head start in their international preparations.
